Felde v. Alliance Benefit
Pursued unauthorized practice of law action against pension plan administrator.
Pension plan administrator prepared trusts and other legal documents for pension or 401(k) plans. Felde alleged that the administrator engaged in the unauthorized practice of law by, among other things, preparing legal documents and providing for the establishment of pension and profit-sharing. Trusts prepared by non-lawyers have been declared invalid by at least one Illinois court.
